Great Grandma Finch's Denver Rolls

Ingredients:

2 cups milk

1/2 cup mashed potatoes

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup shortening

1 cake Fleishman's yeast

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

flour

1 teaspoon salt

butter



Method:

heat milk

*Add

mashed potatoes

sugar

shortening

*When cool add

1 cake Fleishman's yeast

baking powder

soda

Stir in enough flour for a pancakey like batter. Let rise 1 hour.

Add flour to stiffen as for biscuits (know by touch).

Add salt.

Let rise until doubled.

To bake, roll, cut, let rise, 1/2 moon rolls by cutting with round cutter into circles, buttering and folding in half.

Bake for 15 minutes in 400 degree oven.
