Moro de Habichuelas- Dominican Rice and Beans (not to be confused with Beans and Rice.)

Ingredients:

Water

1 can of black beans or pinto beans, rinsed

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 or 2 teaspoons chopped cilantro

1 or 2 chicken bouillon cubes

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1/4 cup chopped onion

2 tablespoons tomato paste 1 tablespoon anchiote paste

1/2 teaspoons oregano

1 bay leaf


Method:

Put enough water and rice in a cooking pot or cooker to make 3 cups of rice.

Add the rest of the ingredients.

Cook according to rice cooker or usual rice cooking directions.

Stir before serving.
