Bean Casserole

Given to me by Ilene Bradford, wife of our first State Farm manager.

Ingredients:

1/2 pound bacon

1 pound ground beef

1/2 cup chopped onion

optional: chopped green pepper

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup catsup

2 tablespoons vinegar

1 tablespoon prepared mustard

1 teaspoon salt (can be omitted)

1- 15 ounce can of pork and beans, kidney beans (drained), and lima beans (drained)


Method:

Saute bacon, beef, onion and pepper (if desired.

Drain and then combine with brown sugar, catsup, vinegar, mustard, and salt.

Add beans.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 & 1/2 hours.

More ground beef and beans can be added to stretch.
