Uncle Chuck's Clam Chowder

This is the "gist" of Uncle Chuck's recipe from Freddie in Alaska.
Ingredients:
bacon, chopped
Vegetable Mixture:
grated carrots
chopped onion
garlic
celery
1-3 cubes butter
milk
3 cubes chicken bouillon
chopped potatoes
water
Roux:
1-2 more cubes butter
flour
Seasoning:
salt
parsley
garlic salt
master pepper (Uncle Chuck's secret ingredient)
clams (juice too)
Optional: salmon and halibut
Method:
Fry bacon.
Add the carrot, onion, garlic, and celery and sauté.
In a separate pot, cook chopped potatoes in water until 3/4 done.
In separate frying pan, make a roux of 1-2 cubes butter, flour, and seasonings.
Place vegetable mixture in a large kettle.
Add 1-3 cubes of butter to the kettle.
Add milk and bouillon cubes to the kettle.
Add the roux to the kettle.
Add potatoes (water too)
Add clams (juice too)
Cook to the verge of boiling. Be careful not to scorch the milk.
