Cabbage Rolls

My sister's high school boyfriend's mother was from Hungary. She gave us this recipe.

Ingredients:

2-3 stalks celery, chopped

1 medium onion, chopped

1/2 green pepper, chopped

1 & 1/2 pounds ground beef

1 pound sausage

1 cup raw ground ham

1 cup cooked rice, cooled

large cabbage head

sauerkraut

tomato juice


Method:

Combine, celery, onion, green pepper, ground beef, sausage, ham and rice.

Cook the large cabbage head until leaves are slightly limp.

Place meat mixture on each leaf and roll up into a cabbage roll.

Place in a big roasting pan, alternating with sauerkraut and tomato juice to cover.

Cover pan and cook at 300 degrees for 3-4 hours.
