Pie Crust

Ingredients:

3 cups flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup shortening (no low-fat)

3/8 cup water


Method:

Measure flour. Measure water into a small bowl or a cup and add enough flour to make a batter (like pancake batter).

Add salt and shortening to remaining dry flour. Cut shortening into flour until shortening is pea sized. Add flour-water batter and mix. Dough should be firm but not crumbly. If too dry, add a few drops of water.

Divide into thirds and roll out on a floured board.

If making single crust, crimp edge and prick with a fork before baking.
